The northern suburbs are Perth’s storm damage hotspot, according to statistics released by an insurer.
After the city recorded it’s wettest August in 50 years, there was a massive $4 million increase in claims for storm damage received by the RAC.
Ballajura, Morley and Dianella topped the list as the areas with the most winter claims.
RAC home claims manager Glen Walker said between June and August, the insurer received 7,434 storm claims, 52 per cent more than the same period in 2017.
“This winter RAC paid out more than $12 million in claims from members who had incurred storm damage, which is an increase of about $4 million compared to last year,” Mr Walker said.
“In August alone there were 2,594 claims, a 25 per cent increase compared to 2017.”
